What special precautions should I follow?

Before taking meclizine:

Tell your doctor if you suffering from any of the following conditions: asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, or another lung disease; glaucoma; difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate gland; or severe or chronic constipation.

You may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listed above.

Meclizine is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Do not take meclizine without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant.

Additionally, tt is not known whether meclizine passes into breast milk. Do not take meclizine without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Meclizine is not approved for use by children younger than 12 years of age.
